HONEY
Its the nectar and sweet deposits from plants as gathered and modified in the honey combs by a honey bee.The taste, Color, aroma and rate of crystallization of the honey depends on the nectar source.
The cooperative buys, processes and packages Honey naturally, a product from the Rwenzoris that serves as food, medicine for man and Ornament to other industries. The cooperative labels its honey as “ALPINE HONEY”, for it is from the Mountains of Rwenzori.
How is Honey made?
Once bees bring nectar back to their hive, they send the nectar to be placed in a honeycomb. This is done by transferring the liquid from bee to bee until they reach the honeycomb in question. Note that at this point, the nectar does not resemble the honey that you’re accustomed to using. It has an abundance of water, for example, that must be removed before honey is formed. This is done by the bees fanning the honeycombs using their wings, an act that tends to speed up the evaporation process. Once much of the water has been removed, the honeycomb is sealed with beeswax and can be stored fairly indefinitely.
It is interesting to note that the taste, color, texture, and aroma of honey can vary sharply depending upon the forage from which it is harvested.

Honey is composed of different items that include;
Moisture Content
Which should never exceed 20′.This is measured by a machine called Refractometer.
Acids
Like Gluconic acid, Lactic and pyroglatamic.
Enzymes
Such as Invertase, Dias tase and Glucose Oxidase.
Sugars
Such as Fractose, Glucose, Sacrose, Maltose, etc.
Minerals
Such as potassium, Sodium, Calcium, Magnesium, Iron, Copper and Manganese.
Proteins
Though in very small quantities.

Other bees products with Nyamughasana are;
1. BEES WAX
Bees wax is a natural wax produced by honey bees of the genus Apis. The wax is formed into scales by eight wax producing glands in the abdominal segments of worker bees, which discard it or at the hive. The hive workers collect and use it for honey storage and larval and pupal protection within the bee-hive. Chemically, beeswax consists mainly of esters of fatty acids and various long-chain alcohols.
The bees wax are good for the promotion of home industries for;
-
mixing medicines.
-
making bees wax soap.
-
acting as Fire starter.
-
shinning furniture.
-
serves as an incredient in making shoe polishes for better shinning.
-
They are also used in making candle wax. The melting parts of a candle wax contains bees wax.

2. PROPOLIS TINCTURE

Propolis is made by bees from resin that is seeped by tree bark or buds, which bees gather and mix with waxy flakes. The bees use propolis as a lining to create sterile cells for the upcoming brood (baby bees). It is usually obtained from beehives and contains bee products.
Eating Propolis daily can help strengthen the immune system against bacteria, fungi, and viruses and fight diseases like Ulcers, Constipation, Malaria, body wounds, respiratory illnesses, flu etc. Unlike medicine, which attacks both healthful and harmful bacteria, propolis only goes after bad bacteria. Furthermore, propolis is not affected by the various mutations of bacteria, as it works against all strains in general.
